Trips Out

Trips Out

Our Wider Community

At the end of every summer term, Little Footsteps takes planned trips to visit our wider community. We will take a bus trip to fun attractions such as The Sea Life Centre, The Dinosaur Park, Wroxham Barns, Planet Zoom, BeWILDerwood, Thetford Forest and more. In the past, we’ve also made trips to see Santa at Church Farm and our local church to learn about Remembrance Day.

These trips are largely subsidised by Little Footsteps as a thank you to all parents for supporting us throughout the year.
Strikes bowling and Planet Zoom
Aug 2024
The Orchard children and older Buds children who are going to school in September went to Strikes for the day. They all walked from nursery to strike in a lovely way while discussing the importance of road safety. We kept in pairs, and ensured we looked both ways when crossing the road and listen to their grown-ups instructions. Once they got to Strikes, they all got ready to go bowling, they split into 3 teams and started, making sure they waited patiently for their turn. Once they finished, they moved over to the soft play where they could explore all areas high and low. Come lunch time they crossed the road to find a shady patch on the grass at the park to have a picnic and eventually have a play on the park before heading back to nursery. This was such a great day, full of lots of fun!
Bewilderwood
August 2024
Our Holiday Club had a super fun day exploring Bewilderwood. Here are some snaps to show just how much fun was had. We love being able to give our children the opportunity to go for trips out during holiday times! We all had a great day achieving goals, we faced some heights, which we done with confidence, balancing, climbing and having lots of fun!
We all had a picnic under the trees while watching a show on the stage.
Dinosaur Park
2024
Buds at Dereham & Butterflies at Mattishall embarked on an epic adventure at Roarr! We explored the Valley of the Dinosaurs, marvelled at animatronics, shared dino facts, and visited the secret animal garden with goats, pigs, and more. We danced with Dippy, enjoyed a picnic lunch, and played in the park before a fun show at Dippy's Theatre. The day was a roaring success, filled with fun, laughter and some of us snoozing on the ride home.
Church Farm
July 2024
Our Orchards children and a few of our older Buds children enjoyed a trip to Church Farm in Stow Bardolph!
At the farm we enjoyed a range of activities, including meeting the bunnies and guinea pigs, meeting the piglets, watching ferrets play, enjoying a tractor ride, seeing the pig race and having lots of fun on all the different play equipment available!
We learnt lots of new facts about all the different animals we met whilst there at the farm, like how ferrets have bendy bones!
It's been an absolute fabulous day out and it was enjoyed by all!
Pensthorpe
Sept 2021
During the summer the Orchards children took a lovely day out to Pensthorpe, and they all had a lovely time. They had a guided tour around the park feeding ducks and learning lots of new information in the discovery centre. After the tour it was time for lunch, so they sat down at the picnic area and ate their lunch. They then had time to explore and play in the outside play area and then the inside play area too.
High Lodge
Aug 2021
During the summer holidays a group of Orchards children went for an adventure to High Lodge. During the car journey they played a game of who could see what on the roads and also, I spy. As they got there, they went for a walk following the Gruffalo trail and found some of the characters as statues. They then spent a lot of time in the woods den building with their peers discussing what they were going to do and what materials they need. After they had lunch, they spent some time on the park before heading back to nursery.
Gressenhall Farm
Aug 2021
During the summer holidays Orchards have enjoyed exploring how people in the olden days used to live and work at Gressenhall farm. They went for a walk to the farm and the land around it and learnt how the farmer and his family maintained the farm and land. Once they finished looking around the farm and at the different animals, they then headed to the museum to learn more about who used to live on the land and how it has changed to nowadays. Once they finished at the museum, they ventured to the picnic area and had their lunch. After lunch they had finished, they enjoyed exploring the park before heading back to nursery.
Congo Rapids Crazy Golf
July 2021
At the beginning of the summer holidays (27th July) a group of the Orchard holiday club children went to Congo Rapids for the first trip of the summer. They took it in turns to hit the ball towards the hole. They completed the 18 hole course over the morning and they were keeping a tally of how many hits it took to get it into the hole. After this they went to Eaton Park and enjoyed a picnic and then having a run around the park before getting in the car to head back to nursery.
