Out of School Care

Out of School Care

Working with Children and Their Families

Little Footsteps provides a place for children to go when they are out of school, but their parents are still at work. To provide the care children need when their parents’ work schedule gets in the way, Little Footsteps has a welcoming breakfast club and creative afterschool club to keep children busy. You can also sign your child up for our holiday club during school breaks.

Our out of school care offerings all follow the same guidelines as our regular nursery care. We help children gain confidence and grow educational skills, which are so important at a young age. Each child is supervised by our caring, experienced staff.

BREAKFAST CLUB
Our breakfast club opens at 7.30am and breakfast is served from the opening time onwards, allowing time for children to enjoy and digest their breakfast, which will consist of a range of cereals and toast, before we transport them to their school. Depending upon which school they attend they will either leave on foot or will be taken by car, departing from 8.20am onwards.

AFTERSCHOOL CLUB
Little Footsteps will collect children from several local schools and will transport them safely back to the Nursery site. Our Afterschool Club offers three designated space with a wide range of activities, the game room comprises of sofas and beanbags with television, DVD player and games consoles allowing children time to relax and re-energise after their day at school.

The homework and construction/table top area encourages children to complete any necessary homework. There is also access to a computer with internet facilities available. The arts and crafts area enable children express their creative side and work on long term projects of their choice.

There is direct links to a well-equipped outdoor play space where the children can have ‘free-flow’ access to the outside environment.

This includes a range of activities such as: water and messy play trays, sand pit, bikes, wooden climbing frame, digging area, planting area and much more, allowing children to let off any ‘reserved energy’.

The holiday club is held in the same area as the Afterschool club offering the above resources and activities. With the added bonus of:

Part Time Care

When you sign up for out of school care with Little Footsteps, your child will be placed into the room that is age appropriate for them. We will also follow your child’s care plan to meet all their specific needs during out of school hours.

Out of school care is a convenient option for parents who can’t be there when their children get out of school.
We provide school drop off and collection, and we will have a healthy snack for children as they spend their extra time with us. We’d be happy to be there for your child, even if it’s just for a small portion of their day.
